I personally hope that Obama will do a good job. Hope can go both ways if you really think about it. It can be a positive hope and a negative hope. I think I have a bit of both. I hope he doesn’t screw us over and I hope he does a good job with what he has promised.
During this election McCain let his advisers take over his campaign a bit too much, they pretty much ruined it for him. Back during the previous times he ran for nomination, he was more more himself, did what he thought was best, and that is why people liked him. I hate using the word Maverick, but that was what he used to be. This time around he spend 90% of his time telling people he was a Maverick instead of showing it. He then let his advisers tell him what to do, including targeting the core republican party with nominations like Sarah Palin. The problem with this was the core group of Republicans are a smaller group now days. The right strategy would have been to let McCain be himself, hit it hard on economy issues during the later part of the campaign and stay away from attack ads against William Airs. He was trying to talk to people about issues that were not even part of the big conversation. This resulted in McCain securing his core group of voters but at the same time turned off most all swing voters.
This video shows the McCain that should have showed up to the debates, a kinder, straight up, straight talker. It also shows how out of touch many Republicans now days are with the world.
It seems like there are now 2 republican parties. I am going to generalize a bit, but I think you will get my point. There are those who blindly vote republican because of moral values and that is pretty much it, then there are the side of republican that do believe moral values play a big part in the election but also are leaning independent on many issues that the Republican party have ruined in the past 8 years. If you want to know what those issues are, just look at the rampant spending they have done. This and many other issues are not the Republican part of the past.
