Recently when Lucas Films released their poster for the new Indiana Jones film, at first I was impressed. Then about 1.6 seconds later I realized it was not a hand drawn poster like previous films. It was a photo collage of images retouched to give it that hand drawn feel. To me it really does not feel the same. It feels fake, it gives me that same feeling when watching Star Wars I. I really hope the movie turns out to have the same spirit as the first 3 films.

Here is the new poster vs. an older Blade Runner poster. The difference is night and day. Click for more old hand drawn posters after the jump.

Oldie but a goodie

Not hand drawn but one of my favorite movie posters (the movie is awesome also)

And finally, this poster is not hand drawn, but is one of my favorites on many levels and I had to throw it in.

The new Indiana poster is hand drawn and colored in photoshop. It is hand done, but colored with the medium of the time like the Blade Runner poster; which was airbrushed which was huge in the 80’s. The new poster is done By Drew Struzen. Look him up, good stuff.
